Buy a gun, get a CCDW permit, practice often & carry one NOW !

To all my friends and family. I wish all of you peace, love, safety and happiness all the days of your lives:

But the facts are the world is a dangerous place where some people want to steal your stuff, harm or even kill you and it may be for no reason or it may be to get money to buy drugs or maybe just because they are evil. Who knows why one human inflicts harm or death on another.

Some of you live in very close proximity to others and this can provide a level of safety & security. Some of you live in rural areas and others live out in the country. The more remote you are the more likely you are to deal with theft, break-ins and home invasions. The reason is many people are NOT armed and the bad guys know the police, even when called take time to arrive at these rural areas. So here are some considerations to improve your positions and abilities to fight off the perpetrators.

Many of you and I are not able to fight off a group or a person larger or stronger than we are. There ways to help you have the upper hand in an unfair fight for life. Ever heard the term – Never bring a knife to a gun fight? That is very true.

Alarm systems are great for your homes. Cameras will help identify the bad guys as well. But will either of these STOP them from kicking your doors in, attacking you, raping you, killing you? – NO they will not.

Pepper spray? Yes it may help or it may also just make them really mad and cause them to take even more rage out of you or your family. Never bring pepper spray to a gun or knife fight.

Gun? NO WAY, they are dangerous, and I am scared of guns. I have children, no way I am having a gun in my home. You are afraid because you have never taken the time to learn, use, operate and experience one much. A gun is a tool and when utilize safely, properly and after practice, a gun can be the best way for you to equalize or even raise your chances of survival against a much larger, stronger or even more than one perpetrator.

I fear a chain saw more than a gun. Chain saws have a spinning set of teeth that can break, fly off their path and chew flesh to and through the bone. Chain saws can kick back and remove an arm, leg, hand or even fly into you neck cutting a main artery causing certain death. But a chain saw in the hands of a trained, skilled person can fall huge trees, make works of art from wood and ice. GET MY POINT!

What gun should I get? One you can handle, shoot, hit the target and that has the firepower to stop the bad guys. 22’s are not reliable, even though a properly places 22 can kill a person just as dead. Some of the best and as always this is a matter of opinion, are the  38, 9MM, 40Cal. A 45CAL is good but they are bigger, more expensive to shoot, normally provide less ammo and can kick more which are not good for many people, especially some women.

Revolvers vs semi auto depends. For many women revolvers in 38 Special Hollow Points are awesome because they do not kick as much, easy to operate. Drawback – only 5 or 6 rounds.

I prefer 9MM Semi-auto. And ALWAYS use hollow points to stop the bad guys. I also like the 40CAL hollow points as well.

The reason for hollow points are these: #1 they will get slowed down more if you hit a wall in a home and hopefully will not go into your neighbor’s home. #2 they tend to do the most damage to the person if you actually hit them.

Do you shoot to wound or shoot to kill? NEITHER You shoot to stop the threat. Never fire a warning shot. Never pull out your gun unless you intend to use it.

Never shoot to wound like in the leg or arm, etc. This target is normally smaller, moving and the bad guys will be on you father than you can imagine. Shoot for the larger target – the body. Bugger target = better chances to stop the bad guys.

Shoot to kill? No, you only shoot to stop. But if the person keeps coming, you keep shooting. If the person dies then know that their choice for you to keep shooting was decided by them, not you and their end result is on them, not you.

In the end – the choice to protect yourself, your family and your property is up to you and you alone. Law enforcement are not sitting in your home at your ready. You do not have a police officer with you everywhere you go. Your protection and safety is up to you. Do not buy a gun if you do not want to. And God forbid if anything happens, call the police and pray they arrive on time. For me personally I have, carry and will carry all the time. The 2nd Amendment allows me the right to protect my life, my liberty and to hopefully live to pursue happiness  for many years to come.

In closing I repeat what I said to start this post off with.

To all my friends and family. I wish all of you peace, love, safety and happiness all the days of your lives:

Women prohibited from getting birth control? Not so fast……

Did the ruling with the SCOTUS prohibit women from getting birth control? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

As a matter of fact there are many items that even Hobby Lobby and others will provide for women through their health care plans. But the ruling just ensure that:

# 1 Women can still get any type of birth control they want that is legal.

# 2 Hobby Lobby does not have to provide items that they feel contradict their moral & religious beliefs. Their insurance can STILL PROVIDE these items for the women (if the women was to add that to their plans) but this can not be billed back to Hobby Lobby (and others who fall under this ruling).

SUMMARY: Women are not being denied anything. They can have any legal item & type of contraception they want, they just have to A: get it added to their plans or B: pay for it themselves.

So as some of the women are saying “It is not my bosses business !!!!” I agree 100%. Go buy it if you want it. I think that this is a win for women everywhere.

NOTE: Did you see what that evil Hobby Lobby pays their employees? You should check it out for yourself.

Hobby Lobby Ruling and the SCOTUS

Here is my opinion for all it is worth to some.

First off I do not think any employer should be REQUIRED to provide an employee with healthcare – period. And if an employer does, it should be based on #1 – their financial status (what can the business afford, make a profit and still be competitive) #2 – the business owner or board of directions decision even if it is base on their religious preferences. My bottom line is that if you do not like what your employer offers in the way of WAGES, HEALTHCARE BENEFITS, DENTAL, MEDICAL or RETIREMENT PLANS, find another job.

Now I want each of you to notice the left & rights responses to this latest ruling and if you pull your head out of your ass and start looking you will see them. First off when Obamacare came up with this mandate I do not remember anyone on the right saying, lets burn them to the ground, for us to hate anyone, etc or to do any type of violence to any person or business. There may have been but I watch a lot of news and have not seen any.

Now I want you to notice what you see from the left. Talk of burning Hobby Lobby to the ground, violence, etc. But the left says on a regular basis that Conservatives are hateful, violent, want women to dies and be denied rights, and that anybody who aligns them selves with those on the right are TERRORIST and even some Democrats say these very things.

So as you listen to the news (which many of you DO NOT) you need to start to listen to what they say and how that say it and decide for your self who is more of a terrorist, evil, hateful, etc. And if you align yourself with those whom are saying “burn Hobby Lobby to the ground, The TEA party and those on the right are TERRORIST, then so be it. And when you do please stop following me on TWITTER, UN-friend me on Face Book and please just go away because you and I have no reason to be friends – period. No we do not have to agree on everything, but if you think we on the right are TERRORIST and want to harm others or burn Hobby Lobby to the ground you and I are way to far apart on things to associate.

The State of the Union Address poll

You can add additional choices and comments.

State of the Union Address – IMO

My fellow countrymen & women. As the President of the United States this is my State of the Union Address. These are to tell the American people where we stand as a nation (or Union). Most of the past Presidents have all told you what you wanted to hear. I however am going to for once in your life tell you the truth, because as American I know you can handle it. This will be short.

The State of the Union is bad. We are $17 Trillion in debt. The housing markets and economy have not rebounded as we had homes. Our children are going to college, spending close to $50 to $150 thousand in debt for jobs that are not there. Some will never be able to repay these debts. We are hemorrhaging money to countries that hate us. The Federal Government has taken on too much over the past 75 years and we must reverse course. There is huge overspending on anything the Gov buys, money does not get where it needs to and taxes & regulations have brought the economic train to a halt. The Fed Gov has tried and failed to regulated all aspects of your lives. So my next 3 years on office are going to be very rough on everyone, but the end result will make the United States a beacon of hope for the world once again.

Step 1 is we will no longer send any aid to any country except Israel. If you want any aid, you will be required to provide some sort of goods or services to the USA that we can actually use. This will be steel, oil, natural resources.

Step 2 We will dismantle and cease all operations in the Dept of Education and send it back to the states to manage, track and oversee. All Dept of Education employees will be given one year to apply for any current opening in Gov service or to transfer to the private sector.

Step 3 The Supreme Court will NO LONGER deal with the institution of marriage and the legality of it. That is not part of what the Fed Gov does. That will be turned back to the states to decide.

Step 4 We will required the Congress & House to meet for 6 month out of the year ONLY. The rest of the time you will work in the civilian sector of your represented area and will live, work and converse with your constituents. Your salary will be cut down to the same pay as a E-5 Sergeant in the Untied States Army. You will have a term limit of TWO TERMS only. NO EXCEPTIONS. Once your terms are completed you can not become a lobbyist for any civilian company or Gov contractors.

Step 5 All soldiers will be returned to the United States and will be stationed on the border between the USA and Mexico. We will secure the borders. If you enter the USA illegally you will be sent back immediately upon the first offense. The second offense you will be jailed for 1 year. The 3rd offense will face 5 years. The jail will be the exact type used in Sheriff Arpio system in Arizona. No luxuries. They will be tents, have chain gangs and you will eat a minimal American diet.

Step 6. If we ever go to war with anyone we will go to win, win quickly and the only outcome will be total and unconditional surrender. Afterwards we will not nation build or rebuild your country.

Step 7. FEMA will be abolished along with the TSA. The USPS and AMTRAK will receive NO Federal funds. They will either sink or swim on their own.

Step 8 The Federal tax code will be rewritten. Taxes will be 10% for anyone making over $75K per year. No loopholes, no deductions.

Step 9 The Food & drug admin will stop all operations except food safety. If you want to drink a 32oz soda, so be it. If you eat so much that you can’t move out of your house or work or even wipe you own ass because you’re on the MY 1000lb LIFE SPECIAL you will also not get welfare, food stamps or SS Disability.

Step 10 The Fed Gov is now out of the babysitting job. We will go back to the constitution and to 10 Amendment and follow it.

OK – I think you get the point.Would this work, nope because all the people getting kickbacks, presents from Santa (big Gov) would throw a fit.

How did we get here – Part Two

In each post there are items that are copied form other sources. They will be marked as such. Other than that, the comments are my own.

How did we get here – Part Two: As stated in part one we have been through a lot as a people. Years back we had problems, murder, atrocities and injustices abounded. But as families went we took care of our own. We were taught to take care of our own. We knew it was the right thing to do for our parents as they got older, we took them in, we took care of them until they died. If there was a child in need in the family we took care of them too. While I am only in my 50s I can say that I was taught this way as well. But even my age group started to stray away from this idea.

You see, many years ago families did not travel far from one another. You were born in a town or area, you grew up there and you died there. Yes there were exceptions, but that moving away was NOT the norm. As the interstate systems, and travel became available to more and more we as a people ventured out. Away from HOME to other areas, states and even countries. A man met a woman, got married and then left the mother & father and moved away. That is now the norm. And there are times when you needed to do that just to survive. Other times people just wanted to get away from others, where they were born, from family or maybe just wanted to live someplace else. As time went on THIS BECAME THE NORM.

In the 1940’s FDR came up with a NEW DEAL. What was it. Well FDR was a big Gov guy and he was the President of the USA for 4 terms. Not 2 terms but 4 terms. No other President had ever been in office for 4 terms. And shortly after FDR died the 22nd Amendment was ratified 27 Feb 1951 in the Constitution. No president will serve more than 2 terms. WHY? Because what FDR was able to do in those 4 terms changed the country FOREVER.

Out of FDR we ended up with a lot of Gov programs, such as Social Security. If you understand the initial plan you would know how it was to work. You paid into the system all you working life and when you reached age 65 you got a check from the Gov. Not this was never intended to be YOUR RETIREMENT but was to help you. Not here is the reach shocker. Again you were to pay into this when you worked. The Gov got the money. And the intent was to get it when you turned 65. But when statrted, most people did not even live to age 65. There go, you lose. Now that we as a people live long past age 65 they keep raising the age for you to draw your SS. Now the problem is that now if you start at age 65 or 67 and you live to be 80, look at how much you draw vs how much you actually paid in. WOW – SWEET DEAL for you. But you must also look at the numbers and ask, where does the money come from? When you draw your SS, most likely you will draw from funds being paid by those working RIGHT NOW, because the money you paid in was gone long ago. But if you really want to understand what FDR did “for you” then read a book called NEW DEAL or RAW DEAL. Ever heard of the NRA? Nope not the National Rifle Association. The NRA was first called the NIRA and then was renamed the NRA (National Recover Act). Sound familiar? How about the The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) (Pub.L. 111–5), commonly referred to as the Stimulus or The Recovery Act, was an economic stimulus package enacted by the 111th United States Congress in February 2009 and signed into law on February 17, 2009, by President Barack Obama.

This act did very little to help. Example is this: I worked for the Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE). Where does the ACOE get it’s money? Taxes. Who pays taxes? People who work for a living. The intent of the ARRA was to get America back to work. Because when more people work, they pay taxes and buy things. When people buy things and pay taxes the economy grows. So what did the Gov do. They gave lots of money to the ACOE. Millions of dollars. What did the ACOE do with that. They brough in 25 temp employees to help the current employees do the jobs they were paid big money to do. This is just one small example and location. Did that help the overall economy? Very little if any. Because all this money given to the Gov (ACOE) by the Gov (Treasury) to pay temp employes to do work someone is already getting paid to do. OH – I forgot. Each of these new temp employees had to have background checks, desks, work areas, computers and on and on.

Again – How did we get here – Part Two

Part three will arrive later.

How did we get here? Part One

As I walk my dog each day I find time to think and ponder. As I hear people on TV complain about their wants, as I take each day and think about it I ask myself, How did we get here? I see these things you will read as you go on in the general public, my own family members, friends and co-workers. As I do so I wonder if I can put it into words. So here I go. Please click on the rating button or comment on each part as we go on.

How did we get here? Where is here? Long ago as we were becoming a nation we did thing differently. We worked hard just to feed ourselves and our family. There was never a RETIREMENT. You worked until you died or until you were not able to work anymore. And even then you could do something until you passed on. Farmers worked in the fields to grow crops to feed themselves and their family. Any extra was sold or bartered to others for supplies they may need. The men also hunted the food such as deer or raised cattle to eat as well. Life was very hard back then. But you worked and when you did you saw the rewards of your labor. But remember there was NO RETIREMENT.

As time went on we grew as a nation. We moved west and many settled in the Midwest and we populated the country. Times were still tough. But there was a boom time called the Roaring 20’s.

COPIED FROM INTERNET: The Roaring Twenties is a term sometimes used to refer to the 1920s in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, characterizing the decade’s distinctive cultural edge in New York City, Chicago, Paris, Berlin, London, and many other major cities during a period of sustained economic prosperity. French speakers called it the “années folles” (“Crazy Years”),[1] emphasizing the era’s social, artistic, and cultural dynamism. “Normalcy” returned to politics in the wake of hyper-emotional patriotism after World War I, jazz music blossomed, the flapper redefined modern womanhood, and Art Deco peaked. Economically, the era saw the large-scale diffusion and use of automobiles, telephones, motion pictures, and electricity, unprecedented industrial growth, accelerated consumer demand and aspirations, and significant changes in lifestyle and culture. The media focused on celebrities, especially sports heroes and movie stars, as cities rooted for their home team and filled the new palatial cinemas and gigantic stadiums. In most major countries women won the right to vote for the first time.

COPIED FROM INTERNET: Finally the Wall Street Crash of 1929 ended the era, as the Great Depression set in worldwide, bringing years of worldwide gloom and hardship. The Great Depression was a severe worldwide economic depression in the decade preceding World War II. The timing of the Great Depression varied across nations, but in most countries it started in 1930 and lasted until the late 1930s or middle 1940s.[1] It was the longest, most widespread, and deepest depression of the 20th century. In the 21st century, the Great Depression is commonly used as an example of how far the world’s economy can decline.[2] The depression originated in the U.S., after the fall in stock prices that began around September 4, 1929, and became worldwide news with the stock market crash of October 29, 1929 (known as Black Tuesday). The Great Depression had devastating effects in countries rich and poor. Personal income, tax revenue, profits and prices dropped, while international trade plunged by more than 50%. Unemployment in the U.S. rose to 25%, and in some countries rose as high as 33%.

The great depression came about and things go real bad. Soup kitchens helped feed the hungry, churches did what they could do and people helped each other. And as we all know there were bad people who took advantage of others. It has always been that way. Good and bad in every situation. But we survived. The Government did not have FEMA, WELFARE, FOOD STAMPS, or other Government programs to help the people. People helped people.

COPIED FROM INTERNET: The instability created in Europe by the First World War (1914-18) set the stage for another international conflict–World War II–which broke out two decades later and would prove even more devastating. Rising to power in an economically and politically unstable Germany, Adolf Hitler and his National Socialist (Nazi Party) rearmed the nation and signed strategic treaties with Italy and Japan to further his ambitions of world domination. Hitler’s invasion of Poland in September 1939 drove Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany, and World War II had begun. Over the next six years, the conflict would take more lives and destroy more land and property around the globe than any previous war. Among the estimated 45-60 million people killed were 6 million Jews murdered in Nazi concentration camps as part of Hitler’s diabolical “Final Solution,” now known as the Holocaust.

Remember, during WWII we built airplanes, ships, tanks, trucks bombs, bullets and so many things to support the war. Women went to work in factories while men went off to war. We sacrificed oil, rubber, gasoline, cotton, nylon, etc all to support the war. Could we do that now? Would we give up things to support the war now? I really DO NOT think we would. I wish we were willing to do so, but I do not think their group of people living in this time in history are willing to give up their luxuries for anybody or anything.

Again: How did we get here? Where are we?

Plans for 2014

First of all, we have a dog named Tipper. She has been with us for 16 year. When family was not there, “SHE WAS”. So our very first priority is Tipper. Some may think that is stupid, but I can tell you that Tipper has been a better friend than some family has even been. So if it come to going to see a family member or taking care of my old friend named Tipper, then Tipper gets taken care of. If they do not like that then sorry but too bad. I am not sure how much time Tipper has left because she has stage 4 congestive heart failure. For anyone this upsets, get over it. She was there when you were not.

Tipper closeup

Once she passes away we plan to NOT get any pets for a while. Many have said that we can not see you without a dog, and while I agree, we want to be without one for at least 1 or 2 years. Our first trip may be back to my home town – Pontiac, Illinois. We have to go see my sister in Ohio. Have not seen her in a long time. I owe her a lot of gratitude for all she did while I was young. Need to head to a town named Livermore, Kentucky. Next will be Florida since we have never been to Florida. After that maybe California. Never been there either. (I take that back – I was in LA and Fort Irwin California but that was with the Army and was not for sight-seeing.) Have to head back to Wisconsin as well. And off to Vegas to the casinos at least once. My brother-in-law and his wife take trips from time to time and we may head someplace with them. Always wanted to do that.

That is our plans but again it depends on our Tipper. And as usual, keep saving $$$, paying off the house and being prepared. Every trip we take will have the funds avail “before” we commit to the trip. Got to keep my friend Dave Ramsey happy you know.

George Washington Thanksgiving Day Proclamation

A day of Thanksgiving “and” Prayer

One can only pray that another man comes along one day that has even help the integrity, and moral courage as our first President of the United States. This a man who could have been King of America if he so chose to be at that time, chose instead to only serve 2 terms as President. He knew that serving more would be bad for the country. God has surly blessed George Washington.

WTH – Right before Thanksgiving

I am amazed at some people. My brother-in-law and I are called RIGHT WING NUT JOBS because we do not bow down to King Obama or his ideals and vision for the country. Last time I checked I thought we had that right to not support & defend the POTUS. In my (I only speak for myself) opinion I think Obama is dividing the country, he is destroying our present health care system (Yes it does have room for many improvements) and making our society into a dependent one as in socialism. Many of us feel that way.

I can expand in so many areas but that is not the reason for these comments. The reason is because we have a nephew who thinks Obama can do no wrong. Obamacare is fantastic, illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay and given a free ticket to include free healthcare, drivers licenses, schooling in public schools for free and so on. He has the right to be for what he want to be for. I can understand why he feels the way he does with so many “people” he knows personally who are on the FREE TIT. Note: remember somebody paid for the free tit you have in your mouth.

But back to the title of this post. My brother-in-law says he has not commented on Bill’s (we will use the name Bill for the hell of it) for almost a year. I blocked Bill for the past est 6 months on FB and therefore he does not see my stuff, nor do I see his. But I was told that TWO DAYS before Thanksgiving he commented on FB about what to say at Thanksgiving to your crazy right wing nut job uncle starts to bash Obamacare. I for one have always done my best to NOT discuss politics at events such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. Plus I have long since moved past Bills comments, feeling or beliefs and actually not even given them a thought for months.

So why 2 days before Thanksgiving did he do this? Because he is an idiot who want to draw attention to himself. And to top it off Bills family thinks WE are picking on him and therefore he is scared to come to the holiday events because he thinks WE will treat him bad.

Here was my plan for Bill at Thanksgiving. Get ready it is really a big surprise. I had NO PLAN. I had forgot about him, his issues and all the other crap that went on. And to top it all off, I have no problem with him having an OPIONION of this stuff. We just disagree. But my plan for him at Thanksgiving was (I HAD NO PLAN) – DUH.

But “now” is another story – since he (Bill) brought it all out again and is making it an issue. I plan to walk up behind him, ask him if he wants to see my gun (for the Army a gun is not what you think it is) and watch him pee his panties then faint. I “was” going to be cordial (sorry but that is the best I can do with Bill) and enjoy time with my family. This year was going to be the least stressful holidays of them all, until Bill decided to wake a sleeping giant. Oh and I AM GOING. He has indicated he may not show up and that will be fine with me. More food and we are sure Bill not being there will not effect the donations for the hall rental because he is known to be too cheap to donate for stuff anyway.

Sorry – almost forgot. This is my weapon, this is my gun, this is for killing, this is for fun. Never call a pistol, rifle or other weapon “a gun”. You figure out what a gun is.

Nurse Discusses 5 Regrets People Tell Her Before They Die

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives. People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality.

I learnt never to underestimate someone’s capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them.

When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.

It is very important to try and honor at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realize, until they no longer have it.

2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.
This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children’s youth and their partner’s companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.

By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.

3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.

We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way,you win.

4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
Often they would not truly realize the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.

It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It is all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.

5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realize until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called ‘comfort’ of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again. When you are on your deathbed, what  others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.

Dec 15th 1791

Although 12 amendments were originally proposed, the 10 that were ratified became the Bill of Rights in 1791. They defined citizens’ rights in relation to the newly established government under the Constitution.

During the debates on the adoption of the Constitution, its opponents repeatedly charged that the Constitution as drafted would open the way to tyranny by the central government. Fresh in their minds was the memory of the British violation of civil rights before and during the Revolution. They demanded a “bill of rights” that would spell out the immunities of individual citizens. Several state conventions in their formal ratification of the Constitution asked for such amendments; others ratified the Constitution with the understanding that the amendments would be offered.

On September 25, 1789, the First Congress of the United States therefore proposed to the state legislatures 12 amendments to the Constitution that met arguments most frequently advanced against it. Articles 3 to 12, ratified December 15, 1791, by three-fourths of the state legislatures, constitute the first 10 amendments of the Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights. Article 2 concerning “varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives” was finally ratified on May 7, 1992 as the 27th Amendment to the Constitution. The first amendment, which concerned the number of constituents for each Representative, was never ratified.

Putting things in perspective

“Putting things in perspective: The Affordable Care Act became law March 23, 2010. That date to October 1 2013 is 3 years, 6 months, 8 days.

December 7, 1941 to May 8, 1945 is 3 years, 5 months, 1 day.

What this means is that in the time we were attacked at Pearl Harbor to the day Germany surrendered is not enough time for this progressive federal government to build a working webpage.

The mobilization of millions, building tens of thousands of tanks, planes, jeeps, subs, cruisers, destroyers, torpedoes, millions upon millions of guns, bombs, ammo, etc. Turning the tide in North Africa, Invading Italy, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, Race to Berlin – all while we were also fighting the Japanese in the Pacific!!

And in that amount of time – this administration can’t build a working webpage.”

And THIS is the administration’s “signature” accomplishment.

The Orange Mailbox

There are always people who have less or more than others in life. Nothing will ever change that 100%. When you drive down any street in America you will see huge expensive homes and you will see the normal size home most middle class American can afford. You will also see some run down shacks. And when it comes to trailers, single or double wide, they can look awesome, especially inside. Some don’t even look like a double wide from the outside anymore. But to each person this may be their home. It may be the best they can do or afford. As long as they are happy – that is all that matters, because the house is a structure. What makes a home are the people. Take the people out of “any” home and it will soon start to decay. There are many who are only one payment away from being homeless. And some of those are living in huge million dollar homes. There are those who live in a small sort of run down little shack, but they own it free & clear. They may even have a few $ stuck back.

But here is my issue. I live on a street with some nice homes. Most take care of their places. We do have restrictions that helps to keep the place neat & clean. Garbage cans are to be kept from in front of your homes out of sight, mailboxes are all of a like type. And each of us are required to have some landscape around the foundation of our homes along with a few trees in every yard. Many of the people here are older, but we still have many younger ones with children.

We have only one individual that stands out. He is in the Kentucky National Guard. He is a Sergeant in it. He is one of a kind. They got their home really cheap through HUD and only paid about $60K for this home that once sold for $120K. And that is great for them. But the problems is that these people have decided they are not going to put up and foundation evergreens around their home. They also decided to keep their trash can in the front of their home and many times they keep it out by the curb for several weeks. This past week they decided to take their mail box & post that is like all the others on the street and paint it orange. No one else on the street has ever done that, nor do I think they would ever do that. Not even for Halloween. I am taking about the entire mailbox and post & base. Looks like a pumpkin orange.

I do my best not to label people. I know some call others white trash when they are poor and don’t have much and I know that some may have even called me that long ago because I was living in a dumpy place, barely got by and worked two jobs just to get the things we needed. But when you can’t move your trash can out of your front yard (sometimes two of them), you park your vehicles sideways in your driveway or yard to hide behind them and you spray paint you cast aluminum mailbox & post pumpkin orange while all the others on the street are black – you are white trash. And the fact he is in the Kentucky National Guard and is a Non-Commissioned Officer is a total embarrassment to me personally.

In the end I guess you can call it his freedom to do so, but we have rules in the subdivision just because of stuff like this. I actually laugh when I drive by because he is only making himself look bad. Actually in uniform he reminds me of Bradley Manning, which looks like a 12 yr old in uniform. OH well. He sure knows how to bring attention to himself.

They just can not justify what they did

Obama, his cronies, and people like Jarvis are no more than cowards. You people make me sick to my stomach. You avoid answering the questions! You can not justify what you did to veterans but you let pot smoking, trash throwing punks in who crap on our memorials, police cars and sidewalks. There comes a time in your life to do the right thing.

200 Dead Crows in MA

Researchers for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority found over 200 dead crows near greater Boston recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Bird Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone’s relief, confirmed the problem was definitely NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be vehicular impacts.

However, during the detailed analysis… it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird’s beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was determined that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with trucks, while only 2% were killed by an impact with a car.
MTA then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of truck kills versus car kills.

He very quickly concluded the cause: When crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow in a nearby tree to warn of impending danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout “Cah”, not a single one could shout “Truck.”

Truckers Strike/Protest planned for 11-13 October 2013 Editors comments

As far as this truckers strike/protest in October, here are my thoughts on it.

Before all you drivers get upset with me on my comments understand that if you were to do this to raise awareness for something and were to do this for a week, I’d consider supporting it. But it depends on the cause or the reason. But I do not think 3 days will make any impact and if it does it will be very small.

A 3 day shutdown over a week-end will have almost no effect. The most it will do is raise some awareness and that may be a good thing, depending on what the reason is for. But overall it will no very little except cause driver to work even harder after the stoppage, and may even cause some to lose their jobs if they go against their employer.

Owner operators will be taking $$$ out of their own pockets. If I was a owner operator I would not participate. If I was a company and my drivers did this and it caused deliveries to not get to the destination on time as promised, I’d be firing me some drivers. So who does that help in the end – no one.

The bikers were in DC because of the Muslim gathering that turned out to be “zip”.

So what exactly are the drivers planning to prove? I think there may be a better way. You got to think things through. I do agree that if all drivers stopped (over a period of time longer than lets say one week, we would “start” to feel effects. But 3 days will be only a bump on the interstate.

Obama Speech 9/10/2013 & my views of it

Obama’s Speech to “we the people”

So he tells us what happened in Syria, how bad it was, it is in our national interest & a threat to us & that we must do something and he has decided to do something.

But then says because it is not a threat to the US, he is going to Congress which he does not “have to do”. But NOW I asked Congress to hold up on their vote (because he knows it will not pass). And that if we do not act it will embolden others to use WMD. But if we do other bad things can happen because Syria may attack others in the region.

Russia to the Rescue” But we will let Putin take a shot at this to see if diplomacy will work. So now that he has DECIDED TO ACT, we will ask for Congress to approve the act, but now we will not ask Congress to approve the act I have decided to take. Anybody remember that WHO’S OF FIRST SKIT?

The entire thing was ALL OVER THE PLACE for me personally. He did a great job of wasting 15 min of TV time when even Honey Boo Boo would have been more informative. OK I am joking about Honey Boo Boo.I think he just did a great job of convincing the American public that he is by far the most clueless POTUS ever.
